This policy describes information used to operate FileOne. Questions about privacy can be sent through the contact form.

Information we use

Account details include your username, email address and a protected password hash. When you use the service, we process uploaded videos, video titles and links, account settings, messages you send through our forms, and technical records needed for security and service operation.

Why we use it

We use this information to provide login, uploads, playback, downloads, sharing, support and copyright-report handling; to protect the service; and to maintain its reliability.

Cookies and traffic measurement

FileOne uses cookies needed for login sessions and form security. Our own traffic counter estimates visitors active in the last five minutes without analytics cookies or browser storage. It uses a short-lived keyed identifier derived from the connection address and browser information; the counter does not store the raw address, browser details, page addresses or browsing history. We also count playback starts and successfully generated downloads. These measurements are kept within FileOne. In addition, Google Analytics loads automatically to measure site traffic and page views, using analytics cookies and sending usage information to Google. Our page-view configuration replaces public video identifiers with generic paths, omits query strings and uses a generic page title. Google advertising storage and personalization are disabled in this configuration. Advertising code, when enabled, may use separate technologies.

Access and storage

Account data and submitted messages are available to authorized administrators. Videos and technical records are processed as needed to deliver the service. Information is kept for as long as needed for these purposes, including security and dispute handling, and may remain in backups for a limited period after deletion.

Your choices

You can change your email and password in account settings and remove your videos from My videos. For other privacy requests, use the contact form.
